### La /θ/: la lengua entre los dientes, sin voz

La /θ/ se produce sacando ligeramente la lengua entre los dientes y soplando. Es **sorda**: no hay vibración. Si hablas español de España ya tienes este sonido, el de _cinco_; si hablas español de América, es nuevo y hay que construirlo desde cero.

**Cómo se produce**

- 👄 **Boca:** entreabierta, sin tensión en los labios.
- 👅 **Lengua:** la punta asoma **entre los dientes**, suavemente.
- 🔊 **Voz:** **sorda** — sólo aire pasando por encima de la lengua.

**Lo oyes en:** _think_ · _thanks_ · _thumb_ · _math_ · _nothing_

> ⚠️ **El error típico en español:** sustituirla por /t/ o por /s/. _Think_ pronunciado _tink_ o _sink_ es el error más frecuente, y _sink_ además es otra palabra.

The /θ/ is made by pushing your tongue slightly between your teeth and blowing. It's **voiceless**: no vibration. If you speak Peninsular Spanish you already have this sound — the one in _cinco_; if you speak Latin American Spanish, it's new and has to be built from scratch.

**How it's made**

- 👄 **Mouth:** slightly open, no tension in the lips.
- 👅 **Tongue:** the tip peeks out **between the teeth**, gently.
- 🔊 **Voice:** **voiceless** — just air passing over the tongue.
