Third exercise: the æn and æt combinations

Here you're no longer working on isolated sounds but on combinations: /æ/ followed by /n/, and /æ/ followed by /t/. These are two very frequent endings, and each makes the vowel behave differently — before /n/ it nasalizes and lengthens, before /t/ it gets cut short.

What you'll practice

• 👄 Vowel: keep the /æ/ open in both combinations.
• 👃 Before /n/: air moves to the nose and the vowel lengthens.
• ✂️ Before /t/: the vowel shortens and the final /t/ isn't released.

⚠️ The typical Spanish-speaker mistake: closing the /æ/ toward a Spanish a the moment the consonant arrives. The vowel has to stay open all the way through.
